Rep. Nancy Mace Challenges Rep. Jasmine Crockett To ‘Take It Outside’ During Heated Debate On House Floor, Denies Trying To Fight
Nancy Mace and Jasmine Crockett clashed during a fiery exchange at a House hearing on civil and transgender rights Tuesday (Jan. 14), with tensions boiling over when Nancy Mace suggested,
“If you want to take it outside, we can do that.”
The heated debate began when Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, criticized Nancy Mace‘s rhetoric about transgender individuals, saying, “I can see that somebody’s campaign coffers really are struggling right now. So [Mace] is gonna keep saying ‘trans, trans, trans, trans’ so that people will feel threatened, and child, listen—” before Mace cut her off.
“I am no child, do not call me a child, I am no child,” #NancyMace, R-S.C., said, disregarding calls for order from committee chair James Comer.
Both later defended their actions on X. Mace admitted she went “off” but denied any violent intent, tweeting,
“Let me be clear: I wanted to take the conversation off the floor to have a more constructive conversation, not to fight.”
Jasmine Crockett called Mace “an attention seeking loser” and added,
“Last I checked, threatening members in a committee room doesn’t exactly reduce the cost of eggs.”
