Drake Affiliate, Toronto Rapper Top5, Arrested On Firearm Charges Following Police Raid
Toronto rapper Hassan Ali, known as Top5, has been arrested in connection with a firearm investigation, according to Toronto police.
The 26-year-old was taken into custody after police executed a search warrant in Markham, Ont. on Friday, Jan. 24. He now faces multiple charges, including unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm while prohibited. Another suspect, 29-year-old Yasin Ali, was also arrested on similar charges, though the two are not related.

This comes after Top 5’s release from prison last year, following the staying of charges related to the 2021 shooting death of 20-year-old Hashim Omar Hashi. Top5 had gained attention during his release after he posted an Instagram photo thanking Drake for helping pay his legal fees.
Screenshots of the original post, which mentioned the rapper’s relationship with Drake, were shared by DJ Akademiks before the post was edited to remove the reference to the artist.
Despite the charges being stayed, Ali has faced ongoing scrutiny for his involvement in the case, and the charges can still be revived.
As for his current situation, police are investigating the recent firearm-related arrest, and are calling for anyone with information to come forward.
