British Rapper Central Cee Faces Backlash After Claiming He Started The Nike Tech Trend In America
Central Cee is catching heat after claiming he’s the one who popularized the Nike Tech tracksuit trend in the U.S.
In a video that surfaced recently, the British rapper said,
“I’m humble innit, but at the same time, I like to think that man put a lot of man on to the Nike Tech thing. You see the influence like even in America people be rocking the Techs like they’re us.”

After this bold claim, some users on X (formerly Twitter) disagreed, with one sharing the trend’s true origin:
“Most Americans don’t even listen to this guy. What influence would he have here? Lol Nike Techs became a trend in New York in late 2013 and then it trickled down everywhere else and THEN them UK n*ggas got it.”
Another user added:
“His entire lifestyle is based on black American culture but he think we got dressing tips from HIM?! Lmao!”
What do you think—did Central Cee really start the Nike Tech trend in the U.S.? Let us know in the comments!
