Whoopi Goldberg Responds To Fox News Guest Over Outrage About Beyoncé’s Grammy Wins: ‘People Voted For Her, Sit Down!’
Whoopi Goldberg had a strong response to critics upset over Beyoncé winning Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter and Album of the Year at the Grammys.
Conservative author Raymond Arroyo voiced his frustration on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle, calling the wins “ridiculous” and comparing Beyoncé’s historic Grammy count to other well-known musicians: “Dolly Parton has 10 Grammys. Frank Sinatra had 11. Beyoncé has 35. How is that possibly commensurate with that talent?”
Whoopi addressed Arroyo’s remarks on The View, saying,
“The year that Frank Sinatra got six nominations despite having two No. 1 albums, he only won one Grammy that night — not even for his singing, for the album cover. Listen, man. You can’t do that. She earned it.”

She continued,
“You’re holding on to country music like white people didn’t also buy her country album.”
Whoopi wrapped up her response with a clear message for Arroyo:
“Come on, man! People voted for it. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don’t. Same with the Oscars. Sit down!”
