In a message posted to the rapper’s official Instagram page, Divinity re-shared a story debunking rumors of his early release, writing:
“April is Second Chance Month—a time to recognize that people deserve redemption, not just punishment. My brother has taken responsibility and served over half his sentence for a nonviolent offense. He is scheduled to be released in 2027, but justice should also mean mercy.”
She added:
“His sentence should be commuted so he can come home to his family, his children, and his purpose. It’s time. #PardonFetty #SecondChanceMonth #BringHimHome”
Fetty Wap, born Willie Junior Maxwell II, is currently serving a six-year federal prison sentence for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy. He was arrested on October 28, 2021, during the Rolling Loud Music Festival in Queens, New York, and later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess controlled substances.
In May 2023, he was sentenced to six years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. According to the Bureau of Prisons, his projected release date is March 13, 2027.
