Montana Father Kills Wife & Two Young Daughters, Ages 7 Months & 6 Years, Before Taking His Own Life

A horrific murder-suicide left a young family of four dead in Kalispell’s Silverbrook Estates neighborhood.

Authorities say that on May 11, 33-year-old Nicholas Olson Hartley fatally shot his wife, 27-year-old Katie Olson Hartley, and their two daughters (7 months and 6 years old) before calling 911 and turning the gun on himself.

The developer of the community, Westcraft Homes, expressed sorrow in a statement, saying,

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of one of our Silverbrook families. Our thoughts, prayers, and heartfelt condolences are with all those who are grieving.”

The man’s motive remains unclear, and the incident is under investigation.
