Turkey Leg Hut Controversy Being Turned Into New Documentary, Producer Says ‘We Have The Opportunity To Set The Record Straight’
Turkey Leg Hut’s rise and dramatic fall are being turned into a documentary.
Orlando-based Hillionaire Productions will begin filming The Rise and Fall of The Turkey Leg Hut next week, exploring everything from divorce and arson charges to bankruptcy and the restaurant’s sudden closure in 2024.
Producer Jami McCoy-Lankford said,
“If I don’t do it, somebody else will. It is about doing it in good taste… we have the opportunity to set the record straight here. This is what happened, no matter who’s at fault.”
Founded outside the Houston Rodeo in 2015, Turkey Leg Hut quickly became a hotspot, drawing celebrities and crowds from all over. However, in recent years, it was tied to marijuana sales, a failed health inspection, and bankruptcy. Co-owner Lynn Price also made headlines for federal arson charges.

McCoy-Lankford confirmed that while the other co-owner, Nakia Holmes, is listed as a producer, she won’t control the narrative or interviews:
“We just want to be able to give people some answers to questions that they have. There are a lot of things that people just don’t know.”
Hillionaire is in talks with major platforms for an August release.
