Marcus Jordan’s DUI Trial Delayed After He Requests More Time To Negotiate A Plea Deal
Marcus Jordan won’t be heading to trial this month.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the son of Michael Jordan asked a judge to postpone his DUI trial, which was originally set to begin June 23. He requested more time so he could continue plea negotiations with prosecutors. The motion was filed on June 2. Prosecutors did not oppose it, and a judge approved the delay on June 3. The trial is now scheduled to begin in early September.
Marcus is facing charges related to his February 4 arrest in Florida. He was taken into custody after authorities found his Lamborghini SUV stuck on train tracks. The charges include DUI, resisting an officer without v*olence, and possession of ketamine.
In the weeks following the arrest, Marcus admitted he had been dealing with substance issues. By May, he shared that he had reached “40 days sober.”
