Amerie Confirms Divorce From Husband Lenny Nicholson After 18 Years Together: ‘We’ve Been Separated Since 2003’
Amerie has revealed that she and her husband Lenny Nicholson, are in the process of getting a divorce.
The “1 Thing” singer shared the news during a recent chat with “Way Up With Angela Yee.”
When Yee assumed her relationship status was “locked in,” Amerie quickly corrected her, saying, “I was but not now.”
“We’re going through the divorce, but we’ve been separated since 2023,” she explained, adding that the split has remained under wraps because “not everyone knows that.”
Amerie and Nicholson, who once managed her career, began dating in 2007 and married in 2011. The pair share a 7-year-old son named River Rowe. Known for keeping her private life out of the spotlight, Amerie’s candid admission surprised fans, many of whom took to social media to react.
Amerie also shared that she’s still unsure about jumping back into the dating pool.
