‘So You Think You Can Dance’, ‘Step Up 2’ Choreographer Dave Scott Dies At 52: ‘His Memory & Legacy Will Continue To Live On’
Sad news in the dance community. Famed choreographer Dave Scott, known for his work in series like So You Think You Can Dance and films like Step Up 2: The Streets, has passed away.
His loved ones announced the news on his Instagram page Tuesday (June 17).
The cause of death has not been made public at this time. He was 52 years old.
“Today we have lost an icon, a legend, a father and a dear friend,” the statement read. “The weight of this loss will send ripples through time. But his memory and legacy will continue to live on.”
“We love you Dave Scott and everything you’ve accomplished and the joy and comfort you’ve brought to people will never be forgotten.”
His family encouraged others to share the post “and let it reach everyone around the world. Show your love and support for this amazing individual and share the footprint he has left on this earth.”
A GoFundMe has been created to help his loved ones pay for memorial services.
