R. Kelly’s Emergency Release Request Denied After He Accused Prison Officials Of Plotting To M#rder Him

Looks like R. Kelly won’t be getting out of prison anytime soon.

Reports state that a federal judge has denied the R&B singer’s emergency request for release after he claimed prison officials were trying to have him k*lled in a murder-for-hire scheme.

As previously reported, the 58-year-old, currently serving a 30-year sentence for a number of s*x crimes, filed for release after being hospitalized last week following an alleged medication overdose. Court filings state that Kelly woke up on June 13 with black spots in his vision and “crawled to the door of the cell and lost consciousness” after receiving an “overdose quantity” of medication. He was treated for blood clots and was set to undergo surgery, which typically allows inmates a two-week recovery period in the hospital. However, Kelly was reportedly removed from the facility by armed officers after just two days.

In his release filing, Kelly also alleged that prior to the overdose, federal officials conspired to have a member of the Aryan Brotherhood k*ll him, and that the man warned him directly his

“life was absolutely in danger.”

Judge Martha Pacold denied the motion on Thursday (June 19), however, ruling the case had been filed in the wrong court. She wrote:

“Kelly is currently housed at FCI Butner, which is located in Butner, North Carolina — outside this judicial district… Kelly has not demonstrated a legal basis for this court’s jurisdiction.”

His attorney responded:

“We are not surprised by this ruling… [but] we had no choice but to act immediately given explicit evidence of a threat to Robert Kelly’s life.”

Meanwhile, federal prosecutors dismissed the filing as a legal stunt, stating:

“Kelly refuses to accept responsibility for years of s*xually ab*sing children… and is using this Court’s docket merely to promote himself despite there being no legal basis to be before this Court.”

What are your thoughts on Kelly’s allegations and the Judge’s ruling?
