Troy Ave & Chef Geoff Cole Accused Of Faking R*bbery & $hooting For Instagram Clout: ‘Did Not Fire Any Live Rounds’
Troy Ave and celebrity chef Geoff Cole are catching serious heat after it was reported their viral “sh**tout” video was nothing more than an elaborate act for Instagram clout.
Earlier this week, Geoff posted a dramatic video claiming a g*nman had ambushed the pair outside his San Diego area home, with Troy pulling a weapon and firing shots in self-defense.
The clip, set to music playing in Geoff’s car, quickly racked up nearly 45,000 likes and had fans praising Troy as a hero.
But now, sources directly connected to the duo confirm the entire scene was staged.
“No one actually attempted to rob Geoff,” the source told TMZ. “Troy did not fire any live rounds.”
San Diego County law enforcement backed this up, stating there were no reports of a shooting or attempted robbery involving the two men.
What’s not entirely clear is their motivation. Some fans speculated in the comments that the spectacle was simply a stunt to promote music. Geoff has yet to respond.
The clip is still live on his page, though, many are now questioning the entire ordeal.
