Cam Newton’s No. 2 Jersey To Be Retired By Auburn University
Cam Newton is receiving his flowers.
Auburn University announced that the No. 2 jersey worn by Newton during his historic 2010 season will be retired on October 11 during the Tigers’ rivalry game against Georgia. He will join Pat Sullivan (No. 7), Bo Jackson (No. 34), and Terry Beasley (No. 88) as the only Auburn players to have their numbers retired.

In a statement, Newton said, “Auburn will always be home to me. The national championship we won in 2010 was a special moment, and to have my jersey retired alongside legends like Pat Sullivan, Bo Jackson, and Terry Beasley is an incredible honor that I’ll cherish forever. War Eagle!”
