Marvel Studios Moving Film Production From Georgia To The UK
Marvel Studios is saying goodbye to Georgia and moving its film operations to the UK.
Since 2014’s Ant-Man, Marvel has filmed most of its interior scenes in Georgia, thanks to the state’s production-friendly tax credits. However, starting with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the studio will base production at Disney’s lot outside London, where Spider-Man: Brand New Day and two upcoming Avengers films will also be shot.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the move comes down to costs. Cheaper labor, no health insurance requirements for workers, and rising expenses in Georgia all contributed to Marvel’s decision.
