Tennis star Taylor Townsend has more to say after her on-court dispute with opponent Jelena Ostapenko.
The athletes went viral yesterday after Ostapenko confronted Townsend following Townsend’s victory at her second-round match at the U.S. Open.
Shortly after, Townsend revealed Ostapenko told her she has “no class” and would never beat her outside of the U.S.
Ostapenko later spoke out via her IG Story and said she told Townsend she was “disrespectful after she had a net ball in a very deciding [moment] and didn’t say sorry.”
During a press conference after the match, Townsend said she was proud that she “let my racket talk,” reiterating that she is the one “moving on the next round, getting the next check,” and “being able to still be here.”
