Taylor Swift Addresses Rumors She Turned Down Super Bowl Halftime Show Over Footage Rights Dispute:
‘Jay-Z Has Always Been Very Good To Me’

Despite the brewing rumors, it’s all good between #TaylorSwift and Jay-Z.

In a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon, Taylor shut down speculation that she turned down a chance to do the Super Bowl Halftime Show over a “performance footage” ownership disagreement with the NFL and #JayZ. The music mogul entered into a long-term partnership with the NFL in 2019 to oversee the Halftime Show and other music initiatives.

No, no. Here’s the thing: Jay-Z has always been very good to me. Our teams are really close.” Taylor said, making it clear that there’s no bad blood. “They sometimes will call and say, ‘How does she feel about [this]?’ That’s not like an official offer. …”

Taylor continued, explaining why, for now, she has no plans on taking center stage at the Super Bowl. “We’re always able to tell him the truth, which is that I am in love with a guy who does that sport on that actual field. That is violent chess. That is gladiators without swords. That is dangerous. The whole season, I am locked in on what that man is doing on the field.”

Can you imagine if he’s out there every single week putting his life on the line doing this very dangerous, very high-pressure, high-intensity sport,” She added, “and I’m like, ‘I wonder what my [choreography] should be?’”

Taylor also noted that her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs star #TravisKelce, would “love” for her to do it, but she’s just “too locked in.”
