Swayvo Twain, Son Of Angie Stone & D’Angelo, Reflects On Upbringing After Parents’ Passing Just Months Apart
Swayvo Twain appears to be reflecting on his upbringing following the passing of his father, R&B artist D’Angelo.
Swayvo, born Michael D’Angelo Archer II, reshared a video to his Instagram Story featuring his late mother, #AngieStone, as they watched an old interview of D’Angelo discussing the five-year gap between his debut album Brown Sugar and follow-up project, Voodoo. In the clip, D’Angelo explained that he “took time to chill” with family and welcomed a son during the hiatus.
When asked how she felt about the old footage, Angie, who sadly passed earlier this year in March, candidly said she was in her feelings because “after those 5 years, he pulled away. …He had to walk away from my son and I.”
While Swayvo didn’t add to his post, when he initially shared the moment with his mom to his main IG page shortly after her de@th, he wrote, “I used to try to separate myself from my parents cause it always felt like I was fated to be in their shadows forever. But thankfully, long before, momma left I learned to embrace them and their legacy full on.”
News of #DAngelo’s de@th broke this morning (Oct. 14). He passed following a private battle with pancreatic cancer.
