D’Angelo & Angie Stone’s Son Michael Speaks Out After Losing Both Parents In 7 Months: “It Has Been A Very Rough & Sad Year For Me’
D’Angelo’s son, Michael Archer II, has broken his silence following the heartbreaking loss of both his parents within seven months.
The 27-year-old spoke to PEOPLE after the Grammy-winning soul icon died on October 14 at age 51 following a battle with pancreatic cancer. His mother, Angie Stone, passed away in March after a tragic car crash. “I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers during these very difficult times, as it has been a very rough and sad year for me,” Michael said. “I ask that you please continue to keep me in your thoughts as it will not be easy, but one thing that both my parents taught me was to be strong, and I intend to do just that.”
A representative for the D’Angelo estate confirmed his passing, calling him “the shining star of our family” and honoring his legacy as one of the most soulful voices of his generation.
Prayers to him during this difficult time.
