Judge Denies Tory Lanez’s Motion for Protective Order in Ongoing Legal Battle With Megan Thee Stallion
A new court filing reveals that Tory Lanez (real name Daystar Peterson) has been dealt a legal setback in his ongoing civil case against Megan Thee Stallion (real name Megan Pete).
According to official documents filed on October 16, 2025, in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, Judge George H. Wu denied Lanez’s motion for a protective order.
The filing — titled Daystar Peterson v. Megan Pete — states that after hearing oral arguments, the judge ruled against Lanez and ordered the case to be transferred back to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida for further proceedings.
Attorneys Crystal A. Morgan appeared for the plaintiff by phone, while Mari F. Henderson represented the defense.
The denied motion marks the latest development in the complex legal dispute between the rapper and Megan Thee Stallion, whose ongoing court battles have drawn intense public attention since Lanez’s earlier criminal conviction related to the 2020 shooting incident.
