Cynthia Erivo Embraces Her Signature Bald Head & Bold Style: ‘It’s Legitimately A Way of Expressing Parts Of Myself
#CynthiaErivo is not afraid to show up as her authentic self.
In a newly released cover story with #Harper’sBazaar, the English actress touched on her signature bald look, normally paired with long customized nails, saying, “This is what I want to look like. I love a heel, I love a nail, I love a jaw, I love a bald head, I love a good outfit. It is legitimately a way of just expressing parts of myself.”
She continued, noting that she knows her two most famous characters, #TheColorPurple’s Celie and #Wicked’s #Elphaba, are meant to be viewed as ugly by audiences, but she’s never seen them in such a negative light. Erivo went on to share her hope that her confidence inspires others to see the beauty in themselves.
“If it’s the only thing I put into this world, that everyone’s individual beauty is worth seeing and experiencing, and you don’t have to change it for anyone else other than yourself, then I’m happy,” she said. “If you want to change, and you want to get a new nose, you want to get new lips, fine. If that’s good for you, then that’s good for you — as long as it’s for you.”
Her message is clear: confidence is the ultimate accessory!
