Rapper & Cousin Of Snoop Dogg, RBX, Sues Spotify, Claims Company Turned A Blind Eye’ To ‘Billions’ Of Fake Drake Streams
Drake’s streaming numbers are at the center of a new lawsuit.
#Spotify is facing a class-action lawsuit accusing the streaming giant of creating an unfair advantage for certain artists while disadvantaging others on its platform. The suit was filed by rapper #RBX, who is also #SnoopDogg’s cousin.
According to court documents obtained by Rolling Stone, the complaint alleges that Spotify “turned a blind eye” to what it calls “mass-scale fraudulent streaming” connected to Drake’s music. The filing claims the company allowed “billions” of non-legitimate plays to remain active, artificially inflating the rapper’s numbers and overall visibility.
The lawsuit further asserts that Spotify knowingly permitted “fraudulent, artificial, or non-natural streams” to persist despite having internal systems meant to detect such activity. These inflated figures, the complaint argues, boosted revenue for both the artist involved and the platform, while diverting potential income from other creators with genuine audience engagement. Although #Drake is referenced throughout the filing, Spotify is the only named defendant in the case.
