Boxing Star Terence Crawford Announces Shocking Retirement At 38: ‘Nothing Else Left To Prove’
At the peak of his historic run, boxing superstar Terence Crawford says he’s walking away from the ring on his own terms.
The three-weight undisputed world champion appeared to announce his retirement Tuesday via social media, just months after his career-defining victory over Saul “Canelo” Alvarez in September. Now 38, Crawford suggested he has nothing left to prove inside the ropes.
In a YouTube video shared with fans, Crawford reflected on his journey and the moment he knew it was time to step aside.
“Every fighter knows this moment will come. You just never know when. I spent my whole life chasing something. Not belts, not money, not headlines. But that feeling, the one you get when the world doubts you, but you keep showing up and you keep proving everyone wrong… And I did it all my way. I gave this sport every breathe I had.
“I’m stepping away from competition. Not because I’m done fighting, but because I’ve won a different kind of battle… This isn’t goodbye, it’s just the end of one fight and the beginning of another.”
Will you miss seeing Terence in the ring?
