DJ Mustard Demands Sole Legal Custody Of Kids He Shares w/ Ex-Wife Chanel Thierry + $30K In Sanctions Boost
DJ Mustard and Chanel Thierry appear to be at odds once again, with no common ground in sight.
The popular record producer is asking a judge to grant him sole legal custody of his three children with ex-wife #ChanelThierry, claiming her social media posts are harming their co-parenting arrangement. In new court documents obtained by TMZ, Mustard, real name Dijon McFarlane, says the two previously shared legal custody of their kids under an order that barred both parents from speaking in a “negative, disrespectful, or derogatory manner” about the other in front of their children or within their hearing distance. According to the filing, Thierry allegedly violated that order with disparaging online posts, including one reading, “Dijon I know you are reading this, I’m so sick of your s. You suck.”*
Mustard’s legal team claims Thierry followed up with another social media message that could affect their kids, writing: “A man will treat your child according to how he feels about the mother. Mark my words.” He argues those remarks “negatively impact the best interests” of their three children — Kiylan, 13, Kauner, 10, and Kody, 6 — and undermine the co-parenting process. #DJMustard is also seeking $30,000 in sanctions against Thierry for allegedly breaking the court order. The couple was together for years before getting married in 2020. They finalized their divorce in 2024.
