DHS Offers $3,000 Christmas Stipend To Undocumented Immigrants Who Self-Deport By 2026
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (#DHS) announced an expanded incentive program on Dec. 22, offering undocumented immigrants up to $3,000 if they voluntarily leave the United States by Dec. 31 through the government’s CBP Home app.
The payment, described by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem as an “exit bonus,” also includes a free one way flight home and forgiveness of certain fines for participants who register and depart before the end of the year. DHS framed the increased stipend as a holiday season effort and said it raises the previous offer from $1,000 to $3,000.
Noem posted on social media that “This Christmas season, the U.S. taxpayer is generously TRIPLING the incentive for illegal aliens to leave voluntarily,” and encouraged participation by saying migrants should “take advantage of this gift” before the deadline. She also warned that those who do not opt for voluntary departure could face enforcement actions if they remain in the country.
