Wendell Pierce Reacts To “The Wire” Co-Star James Ransone’s Su!c!de: ‘Sorry I Couldn’t Be There For You’

#JamesRansone, known for his role as Ziggy Sobotka on #TheWire, sadly d!ed by su!c!de at the age of 46 on December 19. Following the shocking news, his Wire co-star Pierce took to X to honor Ransone’s memory, writing, “Sorry I couldn’t be there for you, brother.” He also added, “Rest in Peace James Ransone,” alongside a photo of the late actor. Ransone appeared in 12 episodes of the acclaimed HBO drama, which examined life in Baltimore through the intertwined worlds of law enforcement, crime, and the community.
Outside of The Wire, Ransone appeared in several notable films and TV series, including It Chapter Two, Treme, and Sinister. His performances earned praise for their intensity and authenticity, leaving a lasting impression on both audiences and collaborators.
