Video game executive Vince Zampella d!ed Sunday (Dec. 22) afternoon following a fatal #Ferrari crash. Zampella, 55, was a prominent figure in the gaming industry and served as the head of Respawn Entertainment. He previously led Infinity Ward as CEO, the studio behind the massively successful #CallofDuty franchise.
The single-vehicle crash occurred around 12:45 p.m. on the scenic mountain roadway north of #LosAngeles in the San Gabriel Mountains. According to the California Highway Patrol, the southbound car veered off the road, struck a concrete barrier, and ejected a passenger. The driver, reportedly Zampella, became trapped when the vehicle caught fire and d!ed at the scene, while the passenger later passed away at a hospital. Investigators have not yet determined what caused the crash.
