WNBA Star Skylar Diggins Opens Up About Being A Present Mother & ‘Doing Everything’ By Herself Amid Divorce Battle
WNBA star #SkylarDiggins is opening up about a challenging year as she navigates life as a single mom amid her ongoing divorce from Daniel Smith.
In an Instagram Story, the #SeattleStorm guard reflected on handling parenting and life largely on her own, writing, “Been doing everything BY MYSLF (sic) for over a year now. Just me and my babies (and the help of my mom/dad). THAT’S IT!” Diggins, a seven time All Star, filed for divorce in March after splitting from Smith in November 2024.
Her estranged husband has also recently taken to social media, addressing the custody situation and expressing his feelings about being apart from their children. On Instagram, Smith wrote, “I’ve been litigating, ordering and asking for custody since April 2025. Separation from my babies has never been okay with me,” adding that he hopes to be able to “hold my babies for a long time.” The couple, who met as student athletes at #NotreDame and married in April 2017, share two children together, and their divorce proceedings are still underway.
