Condolences: Jermaine Dupri Mourns The Loss Of Indie Soul Music Innovator Jerrell Allen

#JermaineDupri is speaking out following the passing of Jerrell Allen.

Reflecting on Jerrell’s impact on #Atlanta’s cultural growth, the legendary music producer shared a heartfelt message, writing, “A lotta people claim the city but weren’t around for the building of what Atlanta is today but [Jerrell Allen] was and not only was he there but he was one of the builders of the scene that made Atlanta super cool.”

Jermaine went on to add, “I pride myself on being somebody that went to every function, gathering, party, or whatever was going on, and no matter where I went, the one person I always saw was Jerrell. Until I see you again.”

Though originally from #Philadelphia, Jerrell ultimately made Atlanta his home and became a true staple in the city’s music scene. From managing singer Algebra Blessett during the release of her critically acclaimed debut album Purpose, to playing a key role within soul music icon Eric Roberson’s entertainment company, Blue Erro Soul, Jerrell poured his heart into every project he touched. His contributions to the soul music community will never be forgotten.
