Turkey Leg Hut Co-Founder Lynn Price Sentenced To 9 Years In Federal Prison For Ordering Fire At Rival Restaurant

Turkey Leg Hut co-founder Lyndell “Lynn” Price is headed back to federal prison after a judge sentenced him to nine years behind bars for orchestrating a fire att*ck on a rival Houston restaurant.

The 44-year-old received his sentence Friday, October 30, after pleading guilty in June to conspiracy to commit arson.

Prosecutors revealed that Price paid four men to torch Bar 5015 in June 2020 following a business dispute with owner Steve Rogers, his former partner.

The men poured gasoline throughout the establishment before igniting it, triggering an explosion that caused approximately $75,000 in damage. Fortunately, nobody was injured.

Before the att*ck, Price allegedly thre@tened to “burn the place down” after Rogers refused his business proposals.

During sentencing, Price apologized and requested five years instead of the maximum 20-year penalty.

“I am truly sorry,” Price said. “I am not asking the court to excuse my conduct or place blame on anyone else. Having done good gave me every reason to know better and to make better decisions.”

However, prosecutors pushed for the maximum sentence, citing his criminal history.

“When the world doesn’t bend to his will, he uses fire. He uses violence, and he uses intimidation,” prosecutor Sebastian Edwards argued.

Judge Sim Lake ultimately imposed nine years, declaring, “The conduct in question shows a total lack of respect for the law.”

Price previously served federal prison time for fraud. His once-popular Turkey Leg Hut, which attracted celebrities and national attention, has since closed following financial and legal troubles.
