Young Thug Wins Major Court Victory As Judge Orders State Of Georgia To Return His Seized Cars, Jewelry & $149,000 In Cash
A Fulton County judge has ruled that the State of Georgia must immediately return millions in property taken from Young Thug during its years-long YSL prosecution.
In a written order issued Wednesday, Judge Paige Reese Whitaker said authorities failed to meet Georgia’s strict forfeiture timeline, making their continued hold on the rapper’s assets unlawful. The ruling covers multiple luxury vehicles, designer jewelry, and more than $149,000 in seized cash.
Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steele, argued that prosecutors missed the 60-day deadline required to pursue a civil forfeiture case. While the state attempted to challenge that position, Whitaker determined that the statute clearly favors returning the property now that the forfeiture complaint and appeal have both been dismissed.
The court ordered all qualifying assets to be returned by 5 p.m. Friday.
The decision follows the conclusion of Georgia’s longest criminal trial, which ended after the rapper accepted a plea deal in late 2024 and was released shortly afterward.
Are you glad to see Thugger get his property back?
