Granted Protective Order Against Actor After She Was Arrested For Allegedly Punching Him In The Face
Here’s your daily reminder that there are always two sides to every story.
Djimon Hounsou’s ex-girlfriend and mother of his children, Ri’za Marie Simpson, has been granted a temporary protective order against the actor following a series of heated incidents and her recent arrest for alleged a$$ault, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. Remember last week when reports surfaced that Simpson was arrested for allegedly punching the #BloodDiamond star in the face after he tried to kick her out of his #Atlanta home? Well, Simpson says that’s not the full story.
She told a judge that her arrest was wrongful and described what she called abusive behavior by Hounsou, including financial mistreatment and an attempted illegal eviction. In her account of the events leading up to the December dispute, Simpson said that Hounsou slammed a vehicle door against her left side, screamed at her, and called her names. In audio she released, Simpson can reportedly be heard repeatedly asking Hounsou for her keys to the property back. At one point, he allegedly calls her a “bitter f***ing divorced person” before yelling at Simpson to get out. She also claimed he “came at” her, standing nose-to-nose during a separate October incident in front of their children.
The protective order requires Hounsou to have no contact with Simpson or their children and to stay at least 200 yards away from them until a hearing in February.
