50 Cent Gives Jay-Z Rare Credit + Calls Him ‘Technically A Better Businessman’ Due To His Industry Moves

50 Cent Gives Jay-Z Rare Credit + Calls Him ‘Technically A Better Businessman’ Due To His Industry Moves
A candid conversation about strategy and loyalty has led 50 Cent to publicly acknowledge that his longtime rival may have played the business game more efficiently.
During a newly released interview with Brian J. Roberts, 50 Cent broke down why he believes Jay-Z holds an edge when it comes to artist development and timing. According to Fif, Jay-Z was far more selective about when he attached his name to emerging acts.
“Jay-Z was not on his artist’s singles until they were doing well enough to not need him on the singles,” he said. “So that helps him. When you’re an older artist and you with a new artist, it makes you current and makes his new audience accept you.”
50 Cent admitted that difference in approach matters financially.
“This would make him technically a better businessman because I beat myself up looking out for them,” he continued. “He’s positioning it as business and working with you when it’s good for business.”
By contrast, Fif said his focus was rooted in loyalty.
“I’m positioning it as they’re my people. I have to get them into the right space. So I work them into a good space regardless,” he explained.
He cited launching artists like Young Buck as an example of being hands-on, even when it wasn’t necessary.
Still, while giving Jay-Z credit, 50 Cent made it clear the competitive tension hasn’t disappeared—especially as old rivalries and online jabs continue to resurface.
Y’all agree with 50 on this one?
