Lil’ Kim Calls Out Her Own Stans: ‘Y’all Are The Reason We’re Not Where We Supposed To Be’
Lil’ Kim is opening up about the complicated relationship she has with some of her most devoted supporters.
During a recent appearance on “Nick Cannon’s Big Drive,” the rap icon was asked what motivates her. “My family, my friends, people who believe in me,” she said. She then surprised listeners by adding, “I can’t stand my fans sometimes.”
When Cannon pressed her on the comment, Kim didn’t hold back. “I hate them ‘cause they don’t get it. I really feel like some of them—and I’m not talking to all of them, obviously—but like the ones that think they know me, think they control me, think that they know best for me.”
Cannon described those supporters as “fanatics” and “stans.”
“I told them, believe it or not, y’all are the reason why we’re not where we supposed to be yet,” she revealed.
Still, Kim emphasized growth.
“Elevation was always my thing,” she said. “The reason why I think I’m still moving now is because I had learned to say, f**k, f**k, whatever it ain’t. I don’t care no more. I’m going to do it my way.”
Do you think the fans sometimes hinder rapper’s careers?
