New Edition Speaks Out After Seemingly Being Snubbed By The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame: We’ll Be Back’
#NewEdition is pushing forward.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2026 inductees have been announced, and a few of our favs made the cut. This year’s class includes eight new honorees, with names like Billy Idol, Sade, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan leading the lineup. The final picks came from a pool of 17 nominees spanning rock, hip-hop, pop, soul, and Latin music. Notably, #MariahCarey, Shakira, #LaurynHill, and fan-vote winner New Edition didn’t make this year’s class.
Reacting to the news, the beloved R&B group shared a joint statement thanking fans for their unwavering support. “That’s love, and we felt every bit of it. Yeah, we didn’t get inducted this year, but don’t get it twisted… we’re just getting started,” they said. New Edition also acknowledged that the process can take time, pointing out that Dave Matthews Band “ran it back 6 years straight before they got their flowers.”
Still, the group showed love to this year’s inductees while making it clear they’re not giving up. “So we’ll be back. Stronger and better …Keep that same fire in 2027 when it’s time to vote again,” they added.
