Pooh Shiesty’s Lawyer Argues Printed Documents In Alleged Gucci Mane R*bbery & K*dnapping Were Lyrics, Not Contract Release Forms

Rapper Pooh Shiesty is pushing back against serious federal allegations as his attorney disputes key claims tied to an alleged v*olent attempt to escape a recording contract.

Earlier this month, the Memphis rapper was arrested at his family home in Dallas, Texas, after authorities accused him and members of his crew of carrying out an “armed takeover” at a recording studio. Prosecutors allege the incident was an effort to force a release from his deal with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records, claiming Pooh Shiesty held a g*n to Gucci Mane’s head to make him sign paperwork.

During an April 13 appearance on Law & Crime’s “Sidebar” with Jesse Weber, defense attorney Bradford Cohen denied accusations that his client printed the alleged contract at Staples before the incident.

I don’t even care if they’re at Staples,” he said. “They are going to a recording studio. Normally, my clients usually print off the lyrics for different individuals. If you have five individuals that are going to be on one record, and they each have a section or a part, they’ll usually print those things off.”

Cohen also challenged the strength of the government’s case, stating, “We have to create the defense and create a way to make sure that [the government] is held to their burden… it doesn’t matter what they say. It matters what they have.”

He further questioned delays in the investigation, adding, “The FBI doesn’t take three months to arrest someone if they believe everything that was said on the night that it occurred,” and claimed, “There might be this mystery contract — they don’t have it.

Pooh Shiesty is currently facing k*dnapping and r*bbery charges and could face a potential life sentence if convicted.
