Cardi B Seemingly Tells Fans Not To Pick On BIA, Explains Why She Continues To Perform “Pretty & Petty”
Cardi B is seemingly asking fans not to target the subject of “Pretty & Petty” while explaining why the song remains part of her performances.
After performing the track at an awards show over the weekend, Cardi addressed why she continues to perform it. According to the Grammy winner, the answer is simple: “Pretty & Petty” is one of the biggest records from her latest album.
“It is one of my hottest songs from my album,” Cardi said, explaining that fans love hearing it live. However, she also urged supporters not to use the song as an excuse to attack anyone online. “Please don’t pick on that girl,” she said. “I don’t wanna be the reason someone gets on the internet and have a bad day.”
Although Cardi didn’t mention anyone by name, many fans interpreted the comments as a reference to BIA, who has been widely linked to the song following the rappers’ highly publicized feud. Cardi went on to reflect on her own experiences with online criticism, recalling multiple periods throughout her career when she felt like “all these b*tches was against me.” She said those experiences are exactly why she doesn’t want to contribute to someone else receiving hate online.
While Cardi has no plans to remove “Pretty & Petty” from her setlist, she made it clear that she’d rather fans enjoy the music than direct negativity toward anyone they believe inspired the track.
