Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t need the unsolicited advice about his wife and marriage.

The power forward, who was recently traded to the #MiamiHeat after spending more than a decade with the #MilwaukeeBucks, sat down for an interview with the foreign podcast AnesTea and touched on everything from his career and humble beginnings in Sepolia, Athens, as well as the criticism surrounding his marriage to his wife, Mariah. Giannis and Mariah tied the knot in 2024 during an overseas ceremony, but the couple had been together for years before walking down the aisle and share four children. Despite the beautiful life Giannis has built with the #California native, he still frequently deals with trolls saying he should leave his wife for a model or famous Hollywood socialite.

Addressing the comments, he said, “I’ve heard so many things. ‘Why is Giannis with this wife? He could be with a model. Not one model but ten!’ But I am with my wife because she tells me the truth.”#Giannis continued, “She loves me, she will tell me whenever I do anything wrong. She will tell my kids the truth. I know that she will kill for my kids and she would even kill me for them. I know that she won’t let my kids get a big head, and that’s the most important thing for me.” He added, “I am in love. I am in love with her. As a woman and as a mother.”
