Again After Allegedly Testing Positive For M*th During Court-Ordered Dr*g Screening

Former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum is back behind bars after authorities say he missed a required dr*g screening and later tested positive for m*thamphetamine. Baldwin County Assistant District Attorney John Oxford told TMZ that Gillum is participating in a random testing system known as “color code dr*g testing.” Under the program, participants are assigned a color and must call a hotline each day. If their color is announced, they are required to report for testing.

Oxford said Gillum failed to appear when his color was called. The former mayor was then tested during a court appearance Thursday, where prosecutors say the result came back positive for m*th. He was taken into custody afterward.

The latest development follows Gillum’s arrest last month on dr*g possession allegations. Police said they found 3 grams of m*thamphetamine, eight pre-rolled marijuana joints, four cut straws, three pipes and a bong.

Gillum later passed a dr*g test, and there had been discussion about possible entry into a pretrial dr*g intervention program. It remains unclear how the latest alleged positive test could affect that option.

Gillum served as mayor of Tallahassee from 2014 to 2018 before making an unsuccessful run for Florida governor in 2018.
