Georgia’s Youngest Mayor Removed From Office After Allegedly Spending City Funds On Food, Haircuts, Clothing & Exchanging Explicit Texts With 18-Year-Old High School Student

Jayden Williams, who made history in January as #Georgia’s youngest sitting mayor at just 22, has been ousted from his post in Stockbridge after less than a year in office.

The #Stockbridge City Council voted to impeach Williams, now 23, following allegations that he racked up more than $4,000 in personal charges on his city purchasing card — covering meals, clothing, haircuts and a movie — plus roughly $2,600 in gas, and used a city vehicle for personal errands. The city confirmed the ouster in a statement Sunday, saying “The Mayor has been removed from office.” Williams testified that the spending wasn’t intentional, that he’s since repaid the money, and that he mixed up his personal card with the city-issued one before replacing both to prevent further mix-ups.

Separately, Williams faced scrutiny over s3xually suggestive messages and explicit images he allegedly exchanged with an 18-year-old male high school student. Police determined no crime occurred since the student was legally an adult in Georgia, but referred the matter for administrative review over the ethics of an elected official communicating with a student tied to a city-affiliated mentorship initiative. Williams pushed back on the framing, noting he met the individual on November 30, 2025, before his January swearing-in, and maintaining the student never took part in his “Mayor for a Day” program, which he says isn’t actually a mentorship effort.

Williams, who campaigned for the seat while still a student at #ClarkAtlantaUniversity, had already been stripped of certain mayoral privileges back in July as the investigation played out. He was never criminally charged in connection with either matter, and his removal took effect Sept. 12.
