Savannah Guthrie’s Mother Still Missing: Possible New Ransom Note Under Investigation

There’s a new development in the disappearance of Today show host Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department says it and the FBI Guthrie Task Force were “recently made aware of a new possible ransom note” connected to the investigation. Authorities are also examining social media comments surrounding the alleged note as they work to determine whether it is credible. So far, officials have not revealed what the note says, who received it or how investigators learned about it.

Nancy, 84, was last seen at her home outside Tucson, Arizona, on Jan. 31 and was reported missing the following day. Investigators have previously released two ransom notes sent to a local television station shortly after her disappearance. The first claimed Nancy was alive and demanded $4 million in cryptocurrency for her release. A second note later claimed she had d*ed shortly after being taken. Authorities have not confirmed that claim, and Nancy’s whereabouts remain unknown. No suspects have been arr•sted.

Savannah and her family have continued pleading for answers. In an August message, she described the family’s devastation, writing, “Our hearts are in ruins,” before adding, “We are begging for help. We are desperate. We need someone to come forward.” Authorities are now working to determine whether this latest possible ransom note is connected to Nancy’s disappearance or is another unsubstantiated claim in the nearly eight-month investigation.
