Lil Wayne Calls Madi His ‘Fiancée’ Months After Denying Engagement Reports

Lil Wayne appears to be setting the record straight about his relationship status — and this time, he’s calling Madi his fiancée.

The rapper seemingly confirmed the engagement while congratulating his longtime friend and fellow Hot Boys member B.G. on his own recent engagement. B.G. proposed to his girlfriend onstage during the Cash Money & No Limit Tour stop in New Orleans. During a video call between the longtime friends, Wayne congratulated B.G. before introducing the woman beside him as his fiancée and making his intentions clear, saying, “I’m marrying this one.” B.G. celebrated the exchange on Instagram, writing, “My lil Brodie gave me his blessings @liltunechi.”

Wayne’s declaration comes months after conflicting reports about his relationship with Madi. In May, TMZ reported that Wayne had quietly gotten engaged to Madi Cannon, who was identified at the time as a woman in her 20s from Indiana. In July, however, Wayne publicly pushed back on the engagement reports and indicated the two had split, describing what they shared as a “beautiful thing” while praising her as an “amazing person.”

Now, Wayne referring to Madi as his fiancée and declaring that he plans to marry her appears to signal that the couple has reconciled — and that wedding plans may be back on.
