“In Living Color” & “Def Comedy Jam” Star Reggie McFadden Passes Away At 57, Family Says Details Surrounding De@th Remain Unknown

Actor and comedian Reggie McFadden, known for his work on “#DefComedyJam” and “In Living Color,” has passed away at 57.

His sister, best-selling author Bernice McFadden, said the U.S. State Department notified their family that he d!ed in #Tanzania, where he had reportedly lived for roughly 18 years. However, the family is still unsure exactly when McFadden d!ed or what caused his de@th. McFadden broke into comedy with #HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam” in 1991 before appearing on shows including “Martin,” “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper” and “Moesha.” He later joined “In Living Color” for its fifth and final season, appearing in 23 episodes, and also had roles in “Little Nicky” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

McFadden also had his own #ComedyCentral special and regularly performed at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. In Tanzania, he owned Olduvai Records, described as a gold-mining and entertainment production company, and released his album “ENJOY, Vol. 1” through the label in May 2025. Remembering his career, Hampton University film studies director Prof. Rel Dowdell called McFadden “a very talented, veteran comedian and actor” whose “diverse choices and dedication to his profession were highly evident.” McFadden is survived by his sisters Bernice and Misty, sons Jaron and Myles, mother Vivian and brother Kris.
