Jamie Foxx Says He Believed Viral Clone Conspiracy While In Rehab After Stroke

#JamieFoxx says wild online rumors about him being cloned became a little too believable while he was recovering from his 2023 hemorrhagic stroke.

During an interview with radio host #BigBoy, the 58-year-old multi-hyphenate star recalled secretly getting access to his phone while in rehab and discovering the clone conspiracy theories circulating online. “When I read the clone thing, that made sense to me,” Foxx admitted, recalling thinking, “Oh, I ain’t had no stroke. They trying to clone me in here.”

Foxx said the medication he was on only fueled the hallucinations, to the point that he believed he actually saw another version of himself enter his room. “Then I saw me walk in. I thought I saw me walk into my room,” he recalled. Things apparently got even wilder from there, with Foxx believing the media was trying to create a “white version of Jamie Foxx” that could “sell better overseas in movies.”

Eventually, a psychiatrist checked Foxx’s medication and decided his dosage needed to come down. Looking back, Foxx acknowledged just how out of it he was at the time, admitting, “I’m high as hell.” The entertainer shared the bizarre rehab experience while promoting his new #Hulu stand-up special, “Jamie Foxx: Take Care of Yourself.”
