Lady Gaga Requested to Wear Lettuce, Literally

Lady Gaga is currently in India to attend the unveiling of the country’s first Formula 1 Grand Prix and to perform a concert for her fans on Sunday.  She arrived in style, wearing a beehive wig with green and saffron highlights – a nod to the colors of the country’s flag, and a one-shoulder, colorful dress designed by Indian-born Naeem Khan.

While in India, PETA has asked her to wear a dress made of lettuce.  A rep from PETA India told the Associated Press:

“If she agrees, we’ll make her a dress entirely of lettuce and held together by pins and threads.  It will be a full length gown, and we’ll make sure it looks sexy. Someone will be on hand to spray the lettuce with water so that it doesn’t wilt.”

This request comes just a year after Lady Gaga wore the infamous “meat dress” at the 2010 MTV VMA’s as a protest against the U.S. army’s “Don’t ask don’t tell” policy, which banned gay people from serving in the army.

Lady Gaga arrived in India on Friday and has so far not commented on PETA’s request.

It might be a good idea to go ahead and wear the lettuce dress to keep both her meat eating fans and her vegetarian fans happy.  What do you think?
