Folks Get Rude When Drake Shows Up Late for Sundance Concert

Over the weekend, we posted some photos of Drake performing at a private concert on Saturday, as a part of the Sundance Film Festival. We also mentioned that the 25-year-old rapper showed up to the event late, but apparently he had a good reason for his tardiness. 28-year-old stand up comedian/actor Aziz Ansari, who was the opening act for Drake, was on time to the event but didn’t want to go on until Drake showed up. Unfortunately once Drake arrived, almost 3 hours late, the audience was a tad bit annoyed. According to reports, Drake’s team was setting up their equipment loudly, while Aziz tried to perform. On top of that, the people in the audience were talking during his act, and even eventually started booing him. 44-year-old actor Cuba Gooding Jr. came to his rescue by jumping on the stage and yelling out
“Shut the
fuckup! We got Aziz here. Let the motherfukerdo his shit.”
Things went a little better after that and Aziz was finally able to introduce Drake, shortly afterwards, but not before saying,
“Thank God they paid me a lot of
fuckingmoney or otherwise it would be like, ‘Why did Ifuckingcome here?'”
Once Drake hit the stage he immediately explained his late-coming. He said,
“I almost lost my life six times to get to this mother
fuker. My flight was delayed six hours. I was on the curviest roads of my life!”
He also said that he felt like he deserved a massage, a grilled cheese sandwich, and a shot after going through so much to get to the venue.
Wow! Sounds like the show was hectic as hell! Peep some photos below.
