Oprah Set To Speak at Spelman’s Commencement + Takes Talents to India

Spelman College’s Class of 2012 will have the honor of having Oprah Winfrey give their commencement address on May 20^th. Winfrey, no stranger to giving commencement addresses, has spoken at Stanford, Duke, and Howard Universities in recent years. This will not be Winfrey’s first time at Spelman, as she received an honorary degree from the college in 2003. They’re also giving her the National Community Service Award this year.

In other non-graduation news, Oprah’s OWN network will be airing her first trip to India on “Oprah’s Next Chapter”. During the episode, we’ll see her at the Taj Mahal, meet Bollywood stars, as well as interact with some locals. In the preview for the episode, she stated:

“There is nothing like this country. I’m forever changed by this experience.”

The episode airs tonight at 9pm on OWN.
