Tweet Hustlin’ … Jill Scott & Tamar Braxton Get Into Twitter Argument Over ‘Braxton Family Values’
Thursday evening, while some of us were sleeping or minding our businesses, a fake twitter beef between Jill Scott and some of the Braxton Sisters ensued. So what happened? Jill Scott made a comment on twitter, about their show, “Braxton Family Values”. Jill tweeted:
I’m not sure if that sounds like sarcasm and/or shade to you (perhaps the “Finally a real representation” part) but it sounded like a slide jab to the Braxton Sisters. One of the more vocal sisters, Tamar Braxton, tweeted back:
And then, because you KNOW Tamar loves speaking in 3rd person, she added:
And then another Braxton sister, Towanda chimes in:
The back and forth ended with Jilly-From-Philly tweeting:
So my questions are:
- Do you think Jill Scott was throwing shade?
- Not that we promote violence among women, but whose side are you on here? The Braxton’s or Jill Scott?

I dnt think the Braxton’s should have even commented maybe she was talking about BBW or a real representation of gospel, who knows but that makes them look real petty, I would expect that from Tamar but not Towanda.

Jill was just voicing her opinion…not necessarily throwing shade! The Braxtons caught feelings! I truly expected Tamar, but not Towanda. I thought she was the mature one!

This is just unfortunate because, I personally love Mary Mary, and i liked the Braxtons as well. I will say that I didn’t like the attitude the sisters in the Braxtons begain to take on as their celebrity became more pronounced. It’s disappointing that Towanda or Tamar would have responded. My pastor said something just last night in our service that pertains to this and that is, Stop taking everything personal. I can definitely say that Mary Mary and the Braxtons are two totally different types of shows. But we love both, they both have their place. I wish that Tamar would calm down though, because its not cute when she is so defensive. I think she needs to get a thicker skin and stop finding a reason to get so frustrated with any and everything that doesn’t praise her.

First of all, the “u can’t be speaking to me.” was tweeted to @WDZZ_Tacara not Tamar. Secondly, but most importantly, Jill was throwing SHADE. There is only one way to take “real depiction of an AA family” (which she did clarify is what she meant by real depiction). She may have had BBW and other shows like that in mind but she grouped them ALL including BFV. I wouldn’t have, personally, cared enough to acknowledge it but she was being shady nonetheless.

On twitter if you hit reply it replies to ALL and besides I’m sure she wanted Tamar to see it. She had like a 5 tweet conversation with that girl and she kept replying all because the girl was. You OBVIOUSLY don’t tweet or just don’t know how to use it.
Its true that Jill’s comment was directed to me. What happened was I was commenting to Tamar and said something like “you’re stupid”. I included Jill in that tweet as I did the series of tweets before that one.
After punking out (I love me some Jill) and giving her the run down, she ended up chastising me for being rude to Tamar by calling her stupid. That’s what the “5-tweet” convo was about.
Jill is a grown woman and if tat is how she feels, and she’s not alone, then so be it. She ain’t mention those dude looking broads. No other reality show chicks responded smh. Tamar is a joke.
I love Tamar. She’s always over the top. This is not a surprise at all. AT ALL!
