NeNe Leakes Says Evelyn Lozada Should ‘Be Quiet’ About Domestic Abuse Incident

NeNe Leakes, who became arguably a household name as the break-out star on Bravo’s the Real Housewives of Atlanta, has been making big career moves. In addition to joining forces with Kim Kardashian to launch her own shoe, Tuesday night, NBC’s The New Normal (which NeNe is a cast member of) aired. And recently the very vocal reality star did an interview with Essence.Com, where she discussed her new TV gig and business ventures and surprisingly weighed in on the domestic violence dispute between Evelyn Lozada and Chad Johnson. In short, NeNe held no cut-cards and advised Evelyn to keep her mouth shut.
She explained:
“I wanted to reach out to her, but I didn’t. I feel like when people are going through something I’m confused about whether I should say something or not, because so many people are saying stuff to them. I don’t talk to Evelyn regularly, but I do know her, we do text if we need something from another. The only advice I would have for Evelyn is to be quiet. I wouldn’t say anything else. To me, it makes matters worse and I would be quiet and try to it handle privately“
Do you agree with NeNe’s perspective or were her comments out of line? Visit Essence.com for the full interview.

I agree w/ Ne Ne
Exactly. I think she is making the situation too public. Not saying she shouldn’t be a voice to women, but when she goes on these shows all she is doing is making him look bad. “there were signs of abuse before, he was cheating, I knew he was cheating” it’s like you guys were married for like three weeks. If you knew he was cheating and allowed it, don’t try to play the victim now that he embarrassed you! If you didn’t listen to everyone else when they told you about him, don’t try to make him look bad now. Handle the situation in court or with divorce lawyers.
You took the words right out of mouth! I wish I could high five you!
Yes I aggree
Agree 100% with NeNe. In my opinion, Evelyn is using this as a way to get more money, not to spread the word about domestic violence.
Ditto.
When I first heard about this incident two scenarios played in my head. The first was that they both would make a public press release explaining how an argument unfortunately got out of control and that Chad is seeking anger management. The second was that Evelyn was going to “jump ship” and do anything her publicist told her to do, so she can to save her brand/image. Of course you guys know which one happened. NO, I am not saying she should stay with him or not talk about the abuse. But I really have to agree with Nene on this one. Situations can get a lot worse when you involve the media. And in a way it seems like she’s using the “victim” card to increase her fame. Who know’s? Hopefully she is really wanting to be a “face” for domestic violence. If not then I really pray for her soul. At the end of the day some things are better lest behind closed doors…
are you guys serious. how can she be quiet and deal with it privately when she is hurting. some of you need to shut up. because u have now idea on how it feels for the man u love to knock the sh*t out of you until blood runs down your face.
So exactly how will making your private life public help her deal better….no one said go back to him and be quiet….they just said stop making things worse since she already DO NOT have the best record…duh!!!
not make it hush hush. but the more you hide. the more you heart. in that type of situation you need to vent. duh! f*ck a record. the record went out the door when she got her wig split….duh! you are too young to understand
