Singer Natina Reed’s Parents Speak Out, Believe Talking On Cell Phone May Have Caused Her Death
Last Saturday, we learned of the tragic news of the death of former “Blaque” member, Natina Reed. Reed was the feisty rapper of the group, and was also the mother of Kurupt’s son. The exact details of her death are still somewhat unclear, but what we know is that Reed was struck by a car while standing or walking on a roadway in Atlanta late Friday night. Friends have expressed their grief and condolences to the Reed family since then. Kurupt released a statement on Sunday on behalf of himself and their 10-year-old son, Tren:
“Myself and Tren, Natina’s son, would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this tragic time. This is a tremendous loss to our family. Natina was a great person and I wish everyone had the opportunity to meet her and know her as I did.”
Natina’s parents are also devastated after losing their daughter, suddenly. Her parents Tamara Goodridge and father Paul Reed spoke to Atlanta’s Channel 2, about their fondest membories of their daughter.
“She was full of life, tenacity and a visionary always a visionary and very good at what she did. Even her acting you could see the light of what she was trying to communicate. Her acting was so profound that you believed the story.”
Her parents and police want to know where Reed was coming from Friday night and where she was headed.
“We’re not looking to be victims. We’re not seeking to be angry, but we do need a resolve. She was on the phone. She was walking across the street on the phone, and the next thing she’s on the floor. I’m sure it played a big part in it, so I’m asking anyone who will view this tape to please be conscientious of the cellphones.”

Meanwhile, her parents are working on plans for a public wake and funeral set for Friday and Saturday, according to Channel 2 Action News. Our condolences go out to family and friends of Reed.
