Basketball Wives’ Shaunie O’Neal Addresses Royce Rumors, Uninvites Royces for Next Season

During the NBA All-Star weekend in Los Angeles, rumors began to circulate that there was some serious tension between cast mates, Shaunie O’Neal (ex-wife to Shaq) and Royce Reed (Dwight Howard’s baby momma). Both women (Shaunie is a producer) star on VH1’s reality show, Basketball Wives. One of the rumors, that sounds a bit far-fetched, was that Shaunie’s boyfriend, Marlon Yates, was cheating on her with Royce.

Shaunie denied the alleged rumor, calling it “preposterous” and adds “he’s been extremely supportive and patient, and I’m so appreciative, because it’s dumb stuff like this that can really mess up somebody’s relationship. But he’s standing by me and supporting me and knows what’s BS and what’s not.”

The second rumor is that Royce will not be asked to return to season 3 of the show. Shaunie shared, “Royce is not guaranteed to come back for Season 3. We are really trying to come up with something else and she’s aware of it. Season 1 we establish [Royce] as Dwight Howard’s ex-girlfriend and mother of his son. Season 2, she’s now dating again, or dating other people that she seems to be pretty serious with. And she can’t talk about her son, she can’t talk about Dwight, and it’s no connection any more, and the legal part of it has almost gotten more strict.”
